The Pirates of Penzance

Lock up your daughters, the pirates are coming to town! Peppered with unforgettable melodies and tongue-twisting songs, The Pirates of Penzance is one of the most popular operettas ever written. So it's high time for a new production from the top-notch team headed by director Stuart Maunder. It promises to be a riot the moment the ship reaches shore.

In spite of being apprenticed to a Pirate King as a child, Frederic has led a very sheltered life. So when he arrives in Penzance with his boisterous shipmates, there are a few surprises in store for him! It all ends happily, but not before he's dodged the Old Bill, fallen in love and made some rather inconvenient discoveries. Anthony Warlow stars as the soft-centred Pirate King.

Varekai

VAREKAI

Deep within a forest, at the summit of a volcano, exists an extraordinary world—a world where something else is possible. A world called Varekai.

From the sky falls a solitary young man, and the story of Varekai begins. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world populated by fantastical creatures, this young man sets off on an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of all possibilities, begins an inspired incantation to life rediscovered.

The word varekai means "wherever" in the Romany language of the gypsies the universal wanderers. This production pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition, and to the infinite passion of those whose quest takes them along the path that leads to Varekai.

Romeo and Juliet

['Julie baby you're my flame…']

A first glance of love lingers like a perfectly formed smoke ring. Outside forces blow tumultuously and the delicate perfection is distorted and eventually destroyed.

Body heat rises, pupils dilate, skin moistens as adrenalin surges… Love and hate consume with a burning sickness that will turn deadly.

This is the world of Romeo and Juliet: passion rising unabated. Life lived - and ended - at boiling point.

'Here's much to do with Hate, but more with Love'

Note to self

The Beautiful Life

or

Necessities are for nincompoops

Someone, someone very wise, once said,

''GIVE US THE LUXURIES OF LIFE AND WE WILL DISPENSE WITH ITS NECESSITIES.''

Yes, to hell with necessities,

give us tailored clothing,

horseback riding,

moveable feasts,

the perfect kiss,

warm socks on a cold winter morning,

a well-played game of Paper, Scissors, Stone,

sunsets,

sunrises,

ice cold beer,

sipping cold beer from a woman's navel,

and all the things not just unnecessary, but wonderfully unnecessary.

In other words, give us The Beautiful Life.

Now.
