Cheap sunglasses: A poem

When you wake up in the mornin' and the light is hurtin' your head,

The first thing you do when you get up out of bed

Is hit the streets a-runnin' and try to beat the masses,

And go get yourself some cheap sunglasses.

Invite to Release Party of Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B./Royal Sneakers

Gwen Steffani and LAMB team up with Royal
Smashing into the Australian fashion scene for the first time ever, Royal Elastics is introducing a much anticipated sneaker collection in collaboration with Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B label. You are invited to an invitation only release of the limited edition sneaker collection at General Pants Co.

These sneakers are designed with the same Made with Love philosophy and attention to detail that is the signature of the popular L.A.M.B. apparel collection. The L.A.M.B acronym stands for everything that Gwen likes and draws inspiration from. As well as being the title of her self-titled debut album, Love Angel Music Baby, it is also the muse behind her sneaker designs.

A playful juxtaposition between masculinity and femininity, the L.A.M.B sneaker collection is representative of the Royal Elastic trademark laceless style, with a touch of classic silhouettes and unique treatments, inspired by the pop starlets own closet.

"L.A.M.B. represents all things that I love. It's very much about my style and how I like to put things together. L.A.M.B. is something that I want to wear everyday, and I'm really excited to be adding a collection of L.A.M.B. sneakers to my closet," explains Stefani, who was named Most Fashion-Forward Artist by Vogue Magazine.

Four styles released on the one night
Each sneaker is carefully detailed to represent one of the four themed letters of L.A.M.B. Distinct features such as cashmere lining, dangling charms, unique embroidery and bold graphics are incorporated into the Royal Elastics and L.A.M.B creations. Also incorporating Gwen's number one influence, music, her favorite song lyrics like "I want you all over me like L.A.M.B.", "Where did my lamb go?" and "Rolling in cashmere, got it in fifth gear, baby" can be found throughout the collection.

There are only 60 pairs of each style available in Australia, making certain this limited edition sneaker collection is sure fly. All styles will sell for $199.95.

With Betsey Johnson, Paul & Joe, and Maharishi's The Library in close proximity to Joseph and Chanel, Brompton Cross' status as a hamlet of high fashion is certified. Nestled in the heart of Kensington & Chelsea, the boutiques and restaurants in residence are a melting pot for the fashionable and chic in London this summer...

Too many cooks spoil the broth: this melting pot evidently takes the cake.

Bacall slams 'vulgar' Cruise

Screen legend Lauren Bacall has taken a caustic swipe at Tom Cruise, chiding the Hollywood star for his "vulgar" behaviour and questioning his acting ability.

...

"It's inappropriate and vulgar and absolutely unacceptable to use your private life to sell anything commercially, but I think it's kind of a sickness," she added.

...

Bacall also had some less than complimentary words for Cruise's acting skills as she bemoaned the liberal way labels such as "great" and "legend" were sprinkled over Hollywood stars.

"I mean the word 'great' stands for something," Bacall said. "When you talk about a great actor, you're not talking about Tom Cruise."
