Singapore Dance Theatre presents La Sylphide

Enchanted by a fairy on the eve of his wedding, a young man is torn between romance and reality; resulting in a fantastical ballet journey that has delighted audiences worldwide since its inception in the 19th Century.

August Bournonville’s La Sylphide is hailed as the first ballet to successfully express the Romantic ideal of a search for true happiness. Set against the rolling countryside of the Scottish highlands, this back-to-basics ballet promises to enthrall with a cast that includes light-footed fairies, one malicious witch, a heartbroken bride-to-be, an indecisive hero and a spurned lover!
